In Glanmire, Ireland, a store manager of a betting shop named Bar One Racing stands greatly indebted to an 85-year-old man. When three robbers, armed with hammers and a shot gun, burst in and began to attack the staff, there seemed no escape.
But the 85-year-old wasn’t having any of it. Instead of running away, he calmly attacked the intruders himself, using nothing but his bare hands. The man, whose name is Denis O’Connor, is a great grandfather.
As O’Connor fought back, shop manager Tim Murphy gained courage too and began to grapple with one of the attackers. The robbers eventually decided to make their escape, and the robbery attempt failed.
