Football might not be the first thing we think of in connection with Kashmir. Actually, though, the game used to be popular in the region before insurgency struck and the lives of people changed.
Fortunately, football has not vanished entirely. The video above shows how the game is making a comeback. As one of the players aptly puts it, “Irrespective of rain, snow, strikes or curfew, I’ll never stop”.
It may look like a promotional film, which it perhaps is – for a more peaceful life, where the only rivalries are on the sports field, and energy finds its outlet in an incredible goal or a magnificent save.
