The world’s fastest man proved that he did not even need to keep his feet on the ground to win a race. Eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt has won a race in zero gravity on a flight over Reims, France.

Bolt sprinted – well, sprint-floated – to the finishing line, beating two other participants in the improvised race aboard an Airbus A310 normally used for scientific research. French Champagne makers Mumm invited him as part of a campaign to promote a bottle adapted for space tourists and astronauts.

“I was nervous but as soon as the first one (move) goes you kind of go ‘oh my god, what’s happening?’” Bolt said afterwards. “But after the third one I was like ‘yeah, it’s crazy!’”
