“I know what we should do, we need to combine MoviePass and ObamaCare.” These were the last words of comedian Hasan Minhaj as he retired from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Even as his comedy career boomed after his initial entry in 2014, Minhaj’s segment became a favourite part of the show.
It was, not surprisingly, a bittersweet moment, as Noah put it. And Minhaj put out one of his best acts, starting with how he’ll miss the place, especially the security guard who’s been putting his fingers in Minhaj’s mouth to examine him.
Of course, Minhaj, whose family is from India, is far from giving up comedy. He is set to release a weekly Netflix series, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj in October 2018, where he “will explore the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity.”
And, we presume, with jokes.
