Farmers across Australia are adopting extreme measures to take care of their livestock amidst the extreme drought conditions prevailing across the country.
A New South Wales farmer posted drone footage of her cattle storming a water truck which had arrived to provide relief to the animals. According to The Mercury, Amber Lea, who owns 1,300 head of cattle, had to drive an hour with her truck to collect water for her cows.
“Watering points on the river or allocated watering troughs were too low, or the mills had stopped pumping and there was no supply,” she said. “The tanker and trough was the only source of water for the cattle and we were carting 100,000 litres of water every day for their survival, often having to drive 50 to 70 kilometers one way to get water for them.”
