A man named Dave had just stopped by to film a group of cows enjoying themselves in and around the the water on a summer day. He noticed that one of them seemed to be calling out to him for help, and that she was in distress.

Investigating, Dave discovered that an electric fence had come between her and her newborn calf. The video above shows how he reunited them.

Flo, the mother cow, seemed to recognise Dave when he went to meet her afterwards. It was a truly human – and touching – way to save a cow.
