US president Donald Trump’s hall of fame star at Hollywood Boulevard was vandalised – again. At 3 AM local time, a man took a pickaxe to the red marble star bearing Trump’s name, an honour for his role in The Apprentice. The video (above) shows that the pickaxe was left with the debris.
In a video (above) released by TMZ, the vandal was caught on surveillance tapes during the act. It has been alleged that he carried the pickaxe in a guitar case, though the video shows no trace of it.
“When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalise a California State landmark, Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said in his statement.
With several incidents of vandalism, Trump’s star has become a hotbed of protest. Just before his victory over Hillary Clinton in the US Presidential polls, the star was damaged by a man disguised as a construction worker who was later arrested. In the same year, a wall was erected around the star by a street artist Plastic Jesus, in response to Trump’s scheme to combat immigration.
