For residents of Gujarat’s Kheda district, everyday commute has become a nightmare, courtesy of a collapsed bridge. A video posted by ANI shows several people, including schoolchildren, risking their lives to cross the structure connecting the villages of Naika and Bherai.
According to reports, local people have been petitioning the authorities to rebuild the bridge ever since it collapsed two months ago. One of the residents told ANI, “If we don’t use this bridge, we will have to travel a distance of 10 km instead of 1 km.”
The collector of the district, IK Patel has stated that the bridge will be rebuilt very soon.
