There were stars in abandon but the semi-finals of Premier Futsal proved to be largely one-sided encounters.

Ryan Giggs was his element in the first semi-final for Mumbai 5s against Kolkata, controlling the play and using all his years of experience. Kolkata were caught unaware as Mumbai went ahead 3-0, courtesy two exquisite finishes from Angelot Caro and a superb piece of skill from Ramirez.

By the time they managed to get themselves back into the game, it was a little too late. Cariocora pulled one back for Kolkata from an insipid goal-keeping error and Gabriel reduced the deficit further. But Mumbai were always in control and Angelot completed his hat-trick by taking advantage of Kolkata's desperation and putting the ball into an empty net. Mumbai's superiority was evidenced by the scoreline of 4-2.

The other semi-final saw two former legends, Michel Salgado and Cafu, going toe-to-toe with each other with their respective teams, Kochi and Goa. Both sparkled but Kochi took the lead through a beautiful chip from Chaguinha.

Vampeta's thunderous shot made it honours even, but Chaguina yet again had the final say in the match, just managing to get the ball to trickle in to give Kochi a narrow 2-1 win.

Mumbai play Kochi in the final on Sunday to decide the winner of the inaugural Premier Futsal league.
