There's something about climbing Mount Everest from your living room. You don't even need to get into mountaineering gear. The only equipment you need: your virtual reality goggles, plus assorted hardware and software.
In the video above, a woman uses Everest VR to see exactly what a real climber would see – the breathtaking vistas as well as the risks and dangers of an avalanche or a missed footstep.
There's even a helicopter ride to provide a virtual reality view as you circle the peak in the air. VR is still in its early stages. The headset can be clunky. But the experience couldn't be more extraordinary.
