France may have ended Iceland's spectacular run at the quarter-final stage with a decisive 5-2 victory but that didn't douse their fans' spirits one bit. The team returned to their capital Reykjavik to a spectacular reception.
There was jubilation in the air as the team went on a rooftop parade through the streets cheered on by thousands of fans, delighted with the way the players have defied expectations in their first ever global tournament.
And remember that epic Viking chant they performed after each game, which became the definitive sound of Euro 2016? The entire team performed it once again, in front of 33,000 fans, which is almost 10 percent of their population. And it was the most spectacular one yet.
