A few days ago, after seven decades on the planet, and despite looking like, in The Daily Show host Trevor Noah's words "a cheap cheese that has barely aged", Donald Trump might have got the strangest of birthday celebrations in India. And in a case of what Noah calls "literally feeding the troll", Vishnu Gupta, President and Founder of the Hindu Sena, offered cake to a Trump poster.

The incident has been written about several times and inspired much parody. However, Noah has a unique take on it. In the video, Gupta says that Trump, who is the "king of America" will kill Islamic terrorists for the Hindu Sena.

But what he says he cannot believe is that Indians are now outsourcing jobs to Americans.

The Daily Show, of course, has long been fascinated by India. In 2014, it decided to send correspondent Jason Jones to cover the elections, but since he would rather avoid "dysentery in 120 degree weather", he ended up travelling to the Indian consulate in New York instead, where he was persuaded to go to India after all.

In the second part of that episode, Jones runs into Shashi Tharoor and asks him, in the wake of the Congress's defeat, "How can someone who looks like you and sounds like you be such a shitty politician?" His journey convinces him, much to his disappointment, that India is a better democracy that America's.

On next week's instalment, how India's 24-hour news cycle will never be able to compete with America's...oh wait.
