Here's a new song by Bengaluru-based singer Rinosh George. That's an understatement.
Because, who knows, what if it becomes an anthem?
In it, he tells the world why George loves being a "Mallu! M-A-L-L-U." Not only is the song funny and set to a foot-tapping beat, it has a chorus that you can't stop singing.
First, he edifies listeners. "Kerala is the state where we be chilling with mahabali. Ask me what you like and I will say porata and beef curry aa."
George has news for those who mock Malayalis for "the way they speak English". To them, he retorts, "But have you heard of the ones who do, who can rip you from start to finish? Like Shashi Tharoor and Vidya Balan, Manoj Night Shylaman, Shobhana, Arundhati Roy." And don't call him a Madrasi either or "your el (bone) I will break".
George, 24, comes from Ernakulam in Kerala, and had previously expressed love for the city in which he grew up in his single This is Bengaluru.
Once again, watch out for that ear-worm of a chorus, "This is Bengaluru, you can call me Guru. There is something about this Uruu."
