FLOTUS Michelle Obama spoke about many things at the graduation ceremony of the City College of New York's Class of 2016. But only one of them really mattered – her takedown, without naming him, of Donald Trump.

Obama said, "Certain folks out there seem to have a different perspective. They seem to view our diversity as a threat to be contained rather than as a resource to be tapped. They tell us to be afraid of those who are different. To be suspicious of those with whom we disagree. They act as if name-calling is an acceptable substitute for thoughtful debate. As if anger and intolerance should be our default state rather than the optimism and openness that have been the engine of our progress."

In a direct criticism of both Trump's desire to build walls and his huge inheritance, she said, "We don't build walls to keep people out because we know that our greatness has always depended on contributions from people who were born elsewhere but sought out this country and made it their home. Our greatness has never ever come from sitting back and feeling entitled to what we have. It's never come from folks who climb the ladder of success or who happen to be born near the top and then pull the ladder up after themselves. No, our greatness comes from people who expect nothing and take nothing for granted."

She concluded the talk by reflecting on her and President Barack Obama's own past as immigrants to the United States, "“It’s the story that I witness every single day when I wake up in a house that was built by slaves, and I watch my daughters, two beautiful, Black young women, head off to school, waving goodbye to their father, the president of the United States, the son of a man from Kenya who came here to America for the same reasons as many of you: to get an education and improve his prospects in life.”

However, Obama's second point about money and inheritance could also apply to frontrunner for the democratic ticket, Hillary Clinton. In the interview below, Bernie Sanders said to the CNN's State of the Union, "Do I have a problem when a sitting Secretary of State and a foundation run by her husband collects many, many dollars from foreign governments, governments which are dictatorships? Yeah, I do have a problem with that. Yeah, I do."
