To see adult males holding hands while walking down the road does not shock those of us who have grown up in India.
Visiting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on his birthday was not the only surprise India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi sprang on Christmas Day. As they walked down the red carpet, Modi created the cutest foreign policy moment by taking Sharif's hand and holding on to it firmly.
As the leaders laced their fingers, who'd imagine there are disputes between the countries they're prime ministers of?
Of course, holding hands is not exactly accepted behaviour between world leaders elsewhere on the planet. But then, as comedian Russell Peters points out, what might raise eyebrows in the West is culturally acceptable on the subcontinent. In India, "grown-ass men hold hands with other men..." all the time.
