From Twitter trolls to mock videos, Arnab Goswami certainly has his fans on the Indian comedy circuit. But, this time, just like the power of his voice every evening, the comedy has crossed the Line of Control.
Last week, Goswami, editor-in-chief and anchor of the Indian news channel TimesNow broke the “biggest” news of the year claiming he has proof that wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim is indeed in Pakistan. His evidence: A phone conversation with a woman who says she is Ibrahim's wife. The investigative journalism involves asking the woman if she is in Karachi, if she is Ibrahim's wife, and what she's doing, after which she took a slight pause and said "he is sleeping".
Pakistani journalist Faisal Qureshi decided that this investigative journalism technique ought to be replicated, and so makes a phone call of his own to get proof of a very different kind. Watch the video, which Qureshi uploaded to his own YouTube page, to get this exclusive breaking news angle (as the Newshour would put it).
