This video might be the quickest way to understand the version of independent India's history that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants people to accept.
Put up as part of a training package on its website, the 23-minute film details the rise of the party and its successes in the years since its formation. Even as it hails the 2014 victory, the film takes several digs at the Congress party, accusing its earlier leaders of being so hungry for power that they agreed to the Partition of India.
Pitting Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (which later evolved into the BJP) against Jawaharlal Nehru, the film pushes the message that Nehru's love for western values posed a threat to Indian culture.
Watching the film makes it clear what the BJP would like to institutionalise as the history of India.
