Jyoti Kapur Das’s short film Plus Minus turns the legend of Captain Harbhajan Singh, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra medal for bravery in 1969, into a slice-of-life story.

Released on YouTube on Friday, the Sikhya Entertainment production stars Divya Dutta as a woman frustrated with her mother-in-law, while popular YouTuber Bhuvan Bam plays a 22-year-old Indian Army soldier. The two meet in a train and begin a conversation. The soldier’s thoughts on life lead to Dutta’s character pondering over the “plus-minus” of her husband. A twist is in store in the final minutes.

Also starring in the film is Raj Singh Chaudhary, best known for his leading performance in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulaal (2009). Das has also directed the acclaimed short film Chutney, starring Tisca Chopra and Rasika Dugal.
