Shooting for Ken Loach’s new film Sorry We Missed You began on September 11. The film will look at a family grappling with the instability that comes in the wake of the 2008 financial crash, Variety reported. To overcome their debts, the father in the family acquires a new van and attempts to start a franchise as a delivery driver.
The cast for Sorry We Missed You includes Kris Hatchen as the father of the family, along with Debbie Honeywood, Katie Proctor and Rhys Stone. Loach’s long-time collaborator Paul Laverty has written the film.
Loach’s I, Daniel Blake, about a joiner who is denied employment and state support and a single mother struggling to bring up her children, won the Palme d’Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. The movie became the 82-year-old director’s second highest-grossing release in the United Kingdom.
