Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra play the young couple in love in Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s Badhaai Ho, but they are not the reason for the bundle of joy that sets up the premise. Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta play Khurrana’s parents, who, to everyone’s shock, are going to be parents again. The news of a baby being born to a middle-aged couple gets the neighbours in a tizzy. It also puts the younger couple’s relationship in jeopardy. Sheeba Chaddha tells her on-screen daughter (Malhotra) about her boyfriend (Khurrana), “His family is a circus I don’t want to buy tickets to.”
The story of Badhaai Ho is credited to Shantanu Srivastava, Akshat Ghildial and Jyoti Kapoor (Junglee Pictures). Ghildial has written the screenplay and dialogue. The film is set to hit screens on October 19.
Prior to Badhaai Ho, both Khurrana and Malhotra have releases in August and September. Andhadhun, starring Khurrana, arrives on August 31. Then, Malhotra will be seen in Pataakha from September 28.
