A young dancer struggles to come to terms with unexplained, paranormal occurrences at a renowned performing arts institute in the trailer of Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria. The film is a remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 Italian classic of the same name.
Susie Bannion (Dakota Johnson) joins a successful dance company in Berlin and impresses the artistic director (Tilda Swinton) with her skills. But as the official synopsis warns, “a darkness swirls at the centre...one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist”. The cast includes Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Jessica Harper, who played the lead in Argento’s original.
Suspiria has been written by David Kajganich and features music by Radiohead’s lead singer Thom Yorke. The film will be premiered at the Venice International Film Festival on September 1. It will be released in select theatres in the United States of America on October 26 followed by a worldwide release on November 2.
