The release date of Kajol-starrer Helicopter Eela has been rescheduled to October 12 due to director Pradeep Sarkar’s ill health. The drama’s original release date was September 14, which was then changed to September 7.
Based on Anand Gandhi’s Gujarati play Beta Kaagdo, Helicopter Eela revolves around a single mother (Kajol) who fulfills her musical ambitions while trying to create a bond with her adolescent son (Riddhi Sen). The cast includes Neha Dhupia and Tota Roy Chowdhury.
Sarkar was recently diagnosed with dengue and hospitalised. According to a press release, he was allowed to leave the hospital for a day to direct Amitabh Bachchan’s cameo in the movie, with an ambulance and a doctor on standby on the set. Producers Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada have decided to postpone the release until Sarkar is discharged from the hospital.
