The teaser for Surender Reddy’s big-budget period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was released on Tuesday. A trilingual in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, the film chronicles the life of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who rebelled against British authorities in 1846, and was publicly hanged a year later.
Chiranjeevi plays Reddy, and the teaser offers a glimpse into his character. As Reddy, Chiranjeevi single-handedly takes on an entire British contingent.
Written by the Paruchuri brothers and produced by Ram Charan’s Konidela Film Company, the film boasts of a huge star cast comprising Amitabh Bachchan, Jagapathi Babu, Nayanthara, Tamanna, Sudeep and Vijay Sethupathi. The soundtrack has been composed by Amit Trivedi. The film is aiming for a 2019 release.
Surender Reddy shot to fame with the Kick film franchise (2009, 2015) in Telugu. Chiranjeevi was last seen in VV Vinayak’s Khaidi No 150 (2017).
