Amazon Prime’s acclaimed television series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is back for a second season. The series follows the attempts of housewife Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) to forge a career in stand-up comedy. The new season will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video later this year, and a third season has already been ordered.
The cast includes Tony Shaloub as Midge’s father Abe, Michael Zegen as Midge’s husband Joel and Marian Hinkle as Midge’s mother Rose. Written and executive produced by Amy Sheridan-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, the show has been nominated for 14 Emmys so far.
In the first season, which is set in New York City in the 1950s, Midge Maisel starts performing stand-up comedy after being abandoned by her husband. Her only supporter is Susie (Alex Borstein), who gives her gigs at the Gaslight Cafe. The second season expands the scope of the story, putting Midge and Susie on a journey to the summer vacation destination Catskills.
