In Lo Magar Pyaar Se, a short film written and conceptualised by stand-up comedian Abijit Ganguly, a seemingly casual meeting between friends takes a sinister turn. Vaibhav (Ganguly) calls his friends (Lakshya Chawla and Nihal Parashar) to his apartment and relentlessly teases one of them. The three sit together uncomfortably for a while, till the tables are turned on the bully.
Performing as a stand-up comedian since 2012, Ganguly turned heads last month when a video of him criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and journalist Arnab Goswami went viral on YouTube. Lo Magar Pyaar Se is Ganguly’s attempt at something “something beyond comedy and stand-up”, he explained on YouTube. Directed by Vikram Arora, the 10-minute film was released on Ganguly’s YouTube channel on Thursday.
