Actor R Madhavan will host National Geographic’s upcoming series Mega Icons, which examines the success stories of five prominent personalities, the network announced on Wednesday. The five-part television series will feature episodes on former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam, movie star and politician Kamal Haasan, Nobel laureate the Dalai Lama, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and the first woman Indian Police Service officer, Kiran Bedi.
The show will be premiered on the channel in September. In each episode, Madhavan will explore what has made these people successful, with the help of scientists and psychoanalysts, according to the show’s press note.
“We enjoy watching each ball rushing towards the fence from Virat’s bat. And the excellence that Kamal Hassan brings to the silver screen,” Madhavan said in a press statement. “But sometimes, we all sit back and wonder – what really has made these icons what they are today? Were these personalities just born to be great...Or did their journey through life, their experiences and hard work, really shape them into the giants we revere?”
