American actor, comedian and musician Chris Rock will headline the fourth season of Fargo, producer FX Networks and Productions announced today at a Television Critics Association press tour.

The fourth season of the acclaimed Emmy-winning series will feaure Rock as the head of a crime family. The new set of episodes will be set in Kansas City in Missouri in 1950. “Essentially the locale will serve as the crossroads and collisions of two migrations, Italians coming from Italy and African Americans fleeing the south to escape Jim Crow, both fighting for a piece of the American dream as two controlling crime syndicates,” Deadline reported. “Rock’s character in order to prosper has surrendered his oldest boy to his enemy, and who must in turn raise his enemy’s son’s as his own.”

The series was created in 2014 by Noah Hawley, who will return as the showrunner, writer and director. Production will commence in 2019, and the show will be aired next year itself.

The series derives its name from the movie Fargo (1996), written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. The filmmakers served as executive producers on the television series, and they will also be involved with the fourth season.
