Arjun-Mathur starrer Brij Mohan Amar Rahe will be released directly on Netflix on August 3, the streaming platform announced today.
The Yoodlee Films production stars Mathur as a hosiery shop owner in Delhi who assumes a new identity in an attempt to overcome debt, only to get embroiled in a murder investigation. “On the run and hopeful of making a new beginning, he instead finds himself trapped in a web of his own making,” a press release said. The cast includes Nidhi Singh, Sheetal Thakur, Manav Vij, Sunny Hinduja, Vijayant Kohli and Yogendra Tikku.
Nikhil Bhat, director of Brij Mohan Amar Rahe, said in the press release, “I am extremely happy to know that Brij Mohan Amar Rahe has been selected as a Netflix Original film; the film is a comic and complex look at the concept of Karmic justice, and plays out with ironic humour.”
Among the Indian films that have been directly released through Netflix are Autohead, Sila Samayangalil, Love Per Square Foot, Lust Stories and Zoo.
