Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu will be released on September 14, the makers announced on Monday. The social drama narrates the story of a man who takes on power distribution companies for charging exorbitant rates. Produced by T-Series, it features Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. Production concluded recently at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios.
Singh has previously directed Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai (2012) and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017). Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat (2018), while Shraddha Kapoor last appeared in Haseena Parkar (2017). She will also make a guest appearance in the song High Rated Gabru from the upcoming Nawabzaade.
