The week’s releases include the sequel to The Conjuring, the Hindi thriller Te3n and Randeep Hooda’s latest attempt to prove his leading chops.
Te3n Produced by Sujoy Ghosh (Kahaani) and directed by debutant feature director Rhibu Dasgupta, Te3n brings together Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan. Together, they investigate the disappearance of a young girl that resembles a similar case that took place several years ago. The movie is set in Kolkata, and is an official remake of the Korean thriller Montage.
The Conjuring 2 In the 2013 supernatural thriller The Conjuring, a pair of paranormal investigators helps a family that is being haunted by the victims of a witch that had lived in the same house several decades ago. In the sequel, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are back on the trail of malevolent spirits, which have possessed a young girl in London this time. Also starring Franka Potente, Simon McBurney and Frances O’Connor.
Do Lafzon Ki Kahani Another remake of a Korean film, this time Always (2011), about a mixed martial arts fighter who falls in love with a woman who is gradually losing her eyesight. The Hindi version stars Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal.
Warcraft Duncan Jones, the director of the smart low-budget space drama Moon (2009) and the time-bending thriller Source Code (2011), scales up for a conversion of the popular video game Warcraft. A battle between humans and orcs in the fictional kingdom Azeroth is performed by a cast that includes Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster and Dominic Cooper.
