Anurag Kashyap’s new crime saga follows twin brothers following different paths. Nishaanchi (Shooter) stars Aaishvary Thackeray – Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray’s grandson – alongside Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Kumud Mishra.
The Hindi movie will be out in cinemas on September 19. The screenplay is by Kashyap, Prasoon Mishra and Ranjan Chandel. The music is by Dhruv Ghanekar.
The trailer suggests a film in the mould of Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur: a story filled with quirky characters, Hindi heartland humour and funky tunes. Thackeray plays twins with opposing points of view and a common love interest (Vedika Pinto). Panwar plays their long-suffering mother.
Kashyap has another movie out this year, the Bobby Deol-led Bandar, which will be premiered at the upcoming Toronto festival.
