At least 15 people were injured after five coaches of the Lokmanya Tilak Express derailed and three were displaced near Cuttack in Odisha on Thursday morning, PTI reported. The accident occurred after a collision between the express train, which runs between Mumbai and Bhubaneswar, and a goods train amid fog, said a Railways official.
The accident occurred around 7 am between Salagaon and Nergundi stations, according to officials. Railway officials had earlier said that 25 passengers were injured, but later found four passengers with major injuries and 11 with minor injuries.
Passengers with major injuries were sent to Cuttack Medical College Hospital. All passengers are said to be out of danger.
A high-level inquiry was ordered into the accident.
