The Centre on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that review pleas against its verdict in the Rafale deal case were based on files stolen from the defence ministry. The government also accused The Hindu of committing an offence under the Official Secrets Act by publishing details from such confidential documents.
Meanwhile, the court reserved its order on sending the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case for mediation. The counsel for Hindu groups opposed mediation, while the counsel for the Sunni Waqf Board said they were open to it.

Pakistan military spokesperson claims Jaish ‘does not exist’ in the country, contradicts government
Pakistan military spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor claimed on Tuesday that the Jaish-e-Mohammad extremist group does not exist in the country. Ghafoor, the director general of Inter-Services Public Relations, the media arm of the Pakistan military, made the remark in an interview with CNN. He also denied that Pakistan has been clamping down on militants due to Indian or international pressure.
