Two Army officers were killed on Friday after Pakistani soldiers allegedly violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Kupwara, PTI reported, quoting the Indian Army. Officials said that the incident occurred in the Keran sector at 11.55 am and was unprovoked.
One of the officers was killed in the sniper attack, while another succumbed to his injuries later. An exchange of fire between the two sides followed the attack, Superintendent of Police (Kupwara) Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar told the Hindustan Times.
Both officials were junior commissioned officers.
