The local administration has assured compensation to the families of the deceased after an inquiry into the incident is conducted. “[The] Police are probing the matter and after that, due compensation will be given to the families of the victims as per the Wages Act,” City Magistrate Shalender Mishra told PTI.

The private real estate company, BPTP passed the buck to Ahulawalia Contractors (I) Ltd that was responsible for all statutory compliance. “As informed by Ahluwalia Contracts, the incident occurred when the tractor trolley carrying sand hit the shuttering material,” Rohit Mohan, the media in-charge for BPTP, said. “As we understand, they are already in touch with the authorities concerned regarding the incident.”
