Suspected militants shot dead a soldier of the Territorial Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, PTI quoted the police as saying.
The suspected militants barged into Mukhtar Ahmad’s home and shot him from close range, the police added.
Malik was posted in Srinagar with the Territorial Army and was on leave, reported the Hindustan Times. He was a former commander of the pro-government outfit Ikhwan, reports said.
The incident came three months after an Army jawan was abducted and killed in Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
