A police personnel succumbed to injuries after suspected militants fired at him in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, reported ANI. Constable Muhammad Yaqoob Shah was shot at point-blank range outside his home at Louswani, reported Greater Kashmir.
Shah was taken to the district hospital in critical condition, from where he was shifted to Srinagar. He died while on the way.
Earlier in the day, suspected militants shot dead a police constable in Awgam village of Kulgam district. The Kashmiri Police said the militants are suspected to be members of the Hizbul Mujahideen group.
Police said that Fayaz Ahmad Shah of Zazripora was heading home after offering Eid prayers at a mosque in Awgam when gunmen opened fire at him. He was severely injured and later died of his injuries at a hospital.
