Five members of a family were found dead in a house in Allahabad on Monday, reported ANI. The house was bolted from inside and the police had to break through the door.
A man was found hanging from a ceiling fan while his wife’s body was found in the fridge. The bodies of two girls, believed to be the couple’s daughters, were found in a suitcase and in an almirah. The body of their third daughter was in another room.
The police are yet to ascertain the motive, but suspect family dispute. The police said Kushwaha was suffering from depression, reported the Hindustan Times.
“It seems that the man, Manoj Kushwaha, killed his wife and three daughters, and later committed suicide,” said Allahabad Senior Superintendent of Police Nitin Tiwari, according to NDTV.
In July, a similar case was reported from Delhi’s Burari area when bodies of 11 members of a family were recovered. Investigations revealed that it was a case of mass suicide.
