The Indian Army announced on Tuesday that two Pakistani soldiers were killed following ceasefire violations in the Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday night.
“In retaliatory action to unprovoked ceasefire violations and repeated attempts to facilitate infiltration by Pakistan Army in Tangdhar Sector, own troops carried out calibrated operations last night, in which two Pakistani soldiers were killed,” Greater Kashmir quoted Srinagar-based defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia as saying.
On Monday, an Indian soldier was killed while attempting to foil an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector. Officials had said that the incident was a “clear case of ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces”.
