A Rashtriya Lok Samta Party leader was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in his office premises in Jandaha in Bihar’s Vaishali district on Monday, ANI reported. The gunmen were on a bike, the police said.
Manish Sahani’s supporters protested outside the police station in Jandaha against the killing. When they allegedly started hurling stones at the station, the police opened fire, injuring at least seven people, IANS reported. The protestors then attacked the Jandaha block office, damaged public property and set the police station on fire.
Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party leader Upendra Kushwaha criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and questioned how the attackers were able to flee the spot, which is close to the police station. Kushwaha also questioned Kumar’s silence on the matter.
