The Italian police on Monday said two people died and at least 56 people sustained injuries after a truck carrying flammable substances exploded in Bologna and led to the partial collapse of a bridge, Italian news agency ANSA reported. The explosion is believed to have been the result of an accident after a truck transporting cars collided with the truck carrying flammable goods.
Italian authorities said several rescue and firefighting teams were deployed at the site. Police said they had cordoned off the area and its vicinity. Videos of the incident show a huge ball of fire and thick clouds of black smoke.
