Three people allegedly beat a man to death on suspicion that he had stolen cattle in Haryana’s Palwal district on the intervening night of August 2 and 3, PTI reported on Saturday.
Palwal Sadar Police Station House Officer Devender said three brothers assaulted the man after he and two of his accomplices allegedly attempted to steal cattle from the yard belonging to their father, Shradharam, in Bahrola village. The accused, identified as Beer Singh, Prakash and Ram Kishan, beat the man to death even as his accomplices fled, the police said.
Palwal Superintendent of Police Waseem Akram told PTI that the police have registered a murder case against the three men and arrested Ram Kishan. Akram said the victim was allegedly cutting the nets put over the cows when he was attacked.
Last month, 28-year-old Rakbar Khan of Alwar district in Rajasthan was assaulted by a mob while he was transporting cattle along with a friend. Khan later died of his injuries. An inquiry has, however, suggested that he had died in police custody.
