The son of former Bihar minister and Janata Dal (United) MLA Bima Bharti was found dead near a railway track in Patna, PTI reported on Friday. The police said they have taken two of 21-year-old Deepak Kumar’s friends into custody.
Kumar had left his house with some of his friends on Thursday night. Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said locals informed them about his body and that he had injury marks on his head and thigh. Kumar’s body has been sent for a post-mortem.
Maharaj said his friends – Roshan and Mrityunjay – were being interrogated. The two claimed that Kumar left after the three of them had dinner together.
Chief Minister and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar visited Bharti and offered his condolences. The Rupauli MLA’s husband, Awadhesh Mandal, is a gangster who has over 12 cases pending against him, The Hindu reported.
