The Haryana Police arrested the chief priest of a temple in Fatehabad for allegedly raping several female followers and taking videos of the crimes, reports said on Saturday. Sixty-year-old Amarpuri, known as Billu, was the priest at Balaknath temple.
The police found around 120 clips of sexual acts, The Indian Express reported. They said that the women would visit Amarpuri to seek his help in resolving problems and he would drug them, assault them, and take videos on his phone. He would then blackmail them with the videos.
Amarpuri has claimed the charges are false. He has been charged under sections of the Indian Penal Code to do rape, criminal intimidation, and extortion.
