The pilot of a MiG 21 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force died when the aircraft crashed in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, ANI reported. He was earlier reported missing.
The Indian Air Force has ordered a court of inquiry into the crash.
The aircraft took off from Pathankot in Punjab, and crashed in Patta Jattiyan in Jawali subdivision of Kangra. The incident took place around 1.20 pm, The Tribune reported, quoting the local police chief Santosh Patial.
