Heavy rain lashed several parts of Kerala on Monday and Tuesday, killing at least 14 people. As many as 34,693 people from 8,033 families have so far been relocated to 265 relief camps in the state, PTI reported.
Landslips damaged crops and property in Idukki, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts. Three people are missing, The News Minute reported.
Property worth Rs 8 crore was damaged, Kerala Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan said.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has instructed district collectors to be on alert as the India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the state till July 20. He said he has asked officials to ensure supply of drinking water in areas that were affected by the floods.
