A suspected militant was killed and two Army personnel were injured in an ongoing gunfight near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, reported GNS.
An unidentified Army officer based in North Kashmir said the encounter broke out near Safawali Gali adjacent to Batpora forests after a search party noticed the movement of suspected infiltrators early in the morning.
The officer said they recovered the body of a militant and a rifle. Two soldiers were wounded in the operation and were shifted to a hospital.
On Friday, two Central Reserve Police Force officers were killed and another injured when suspected militants attacked a police party in Achabal town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.
