Spiritual leader Jashan Pahlajrai Vaswani died in Pune on Thursday morning due to old age-related ailments. Vaswani, better known as Dada Vaswani, was born on August 2, 1918, in Pakistan’s Hyderabad city.
The spiritual leader was also acclaimed as a humanitarian, philosopher, educator and orator. His non-governmental organisation, the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, was involved in charity and social work.
The Sadhu Vaswani Mission said he died around 9 am. “Ever-loving, ever-giving, may he continue to bless us from the beyond,” it said on Twitter.
A member of the organisation said Vaswani had been in a private hospital in Pune for several days and was discharged on Wednesday night, PTI reported. The organisation had planned a big event next month to celebrate Vaswani’s 100th birthday, the member said.
Several people expressed their condolences on Twitter.
