The girl was kidnapped from her family car when her mother had gone left the vehicle to buy water. The abductors reportedly got in the car and drove away with the girl in the backseat. According to Jagran, the abductors deactivated the GPS of the car minutes after kidnapping the child. Capital Governorate Police General Directorate Colonel Khalid Al Thawadi said that a team of 25 patrol vehicles was deployed to search for the girl. He said, “The child was found at the woman’s residence in Hoora."
Her uncle, however, rubbished rumours that had cropped up of her father being involved in the kidnapping. Anish Charles told DT News, “He’s currently in India and there’s no way that he could plan or do this.”
