An investigative team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory visited the scene where a 17-year-old boy was found bleeding in Kolkata on July 21, reported The Indian Express. Abesh Dasgupta succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vishal Garg said, "Kolkata Police officials visited the site along with the CFSL team. They have collected samples as well."

Besides collecting information and evidence, the team also sketched a map of the area to help them solve the case, which was initially reported as a murder, but later ruled out by the investigators. Before this, state forensic teams have visited the spot three times. The local administration said they approached the central agency for its expert opinion in the high-profile case. Kolkata Police is coordinating with a Special Investigation Team regarding the investigation.

The teenager was found in a pool of blood at the parking lot of Sunny Park apartment in the Ballygunge locality of south Kolkata. He was found bleeding from multiple injuries after a birthday lunch he attended for author Amit Chaudhuri’s daughter, who lives in the same residential complex. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has assured Dasgupta's mother of a speedy and impartial investigation into the case.
